Meet Our Team

Jessica Shewmaker

Nurse Practitioner/Owner

Jessica graduated nursing school from Midway College in 2002. She worked at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, mainly on a cardiac telemetry unit, for 5 years while attending the University of Kentucky. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and in 2007 with a Master's degree in Nursing. At that point she worked for Drs. Enlow & Shahzad in Danville doing primary care with an emphasis on diabetes until 2014. That practice was sold to Ephraim McDowell at which point Jessica chose a different path. She went to work for a company called MD2U that acts as primary providers for home bound patients, and served 7 counties at one point. Although she truly loved that job and the patients, traveling on a daily basis proved to be a little more than she could handle with her family made of a husband and 3 children. After a year, Jessica went back to an office based primary care setting at Northgate Medical in Harrodsburg. Jessica admits that she has been blessed to work with the best providers and staff that she could ever ask for in all locations. But sometimes God has a plan that we are unaware of. It just so happens that the previous owner of The Ready Care Clinic had also worked at Northgate Medical and when she decided to change roles, contacted Jessica about buying the clinic. She is happy to be the owner & operator of The Ready Care Clinic & brings about 15 years of experience in primary care along with her and is happy to serve the walk in care needs of Anderson, Mercer and surrounding counties with ease and compassion.
